Network Engineer Duties

The Network Engineer functions in a pivotal position, which oversees SniperHill’s theatre-wide IP network connectivity and is responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within SniperHill’s networking mesh and between theatre-wide locations. The Network Engineer’s primary goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for users.

The Network Engineer performs a variety of duties pertaining to installation of bundled telecommunications services in customers’ rooms, business client places of business and a variety of living structures. This includes basic and complex installation with technical troubleshooting based upon each living area’s existing infrastructure and living environment.

Incumbent must be able and willing to work in all types of weather and harsh conditions. Must be capable and willing to work from high places (ladders, poles, rooftops, etc.) and in closed in spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.). Must be able and willing to safely lift and carry loads up to 70 pounds.

Travel to various US Bases in Iraq is required.

Preferred Certifications
MikroTik OS Basic Training Course
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Skills and Requirements *
Experience with MikroTik Routers Operating System (OS), Cisco routers, Cisco Switches and various telecommunication equipment.
Support wireless network
TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, NAT, VLANs, Inter-VLAN Routing
IP subnetting
Configure and install routers, firewalls, switches, UPS, etc.
Structured cabling
Monitor alarms of network and switches systems, monitor traffic statistics and utilization of network resources. (Cisco Works, Solar Winds, InterMapper)
Strong working knowledge on Microsoft Visio and MS Office Suite
Additional duties include providing tier 1 technical support for helpdesk 24/7 support
